How Bali Visa on Arrival works in 2026

The real fees, the tourism levy, and how to extend

A clear, up-to-date breakdown of the Visa on Arrival (VOA) and electronic e-VOA — what it costs, who can use it, and how long you can stay.

The Visa on Arrival is the simplest way for most short-stay visitors to enter Bali. In 2026 the official VOA and e-VOA fee is IDR 500,000 (roughly USD 30–35 depending on the exchange rate). It grants a 30-day stay that can be extended once for a further 30 days. The separate Bali tourism levy of IDR 150,000 is paid on top.

What the Visa on Arrival is

The VOA is a short-stay entry permit for tourism, family visits and short business meetings. It is issued for 30 days and can be extended once for another 30 days, giving a maximum stay of 60 days. It is not a work permit and cannot be used for paid employment in Indonesia.

02

e-VOA versus on-arrival

You can buy the VOA at the airport counter on arrival, or apply online beforehand as an e-VOA through the official immigration portal at evisa.imigrasi.go.id. The e-VOA is strongly recommended: you skip the payment queue, lock in the official fee, and carry an approval in your inbox before you fly.

03

The Bali tourism levy

Separate from the visa, every foreign tourist pays a one-time Bali tourism levy of IDR 150,000 through the official Love Bali system. It funds cultural and environmental programmes across the island and is best paid online before arrival to avoid queues.

04

Extending your stay

The VOA can be extended once, for 30 additional days, at the immigration office in Denpasar. The process usually takes a few working days and involves a short office visit. We handle the application, the appointment and the paperwork so you do not have to navigate it alone.
